This 12-day surfing event features numerous surfing competitions and other surfing related activities that take place while being surrounded by the beautiful sandy coastline of Newcastle's Merewether Beach.
Surfest Newcastle is an action packed, 12-day event that features a gathering of some of the world's best surfers. Mens, womens, juniors and high school teams will gather to compete for the right to be called the Surfest Newcastle champion.
Spectators are welcome to watch as these talented individuals hit the ocean's waves and show off their skills. In fact, Surfest Newcastle is considered the largest surfing festival in the southern hemisphere.

Other events held throughout previous editions of Surfest Newcastle included The Burton Toyota Pro Junior championship, Newcastle Now High School Teams championship, and Wandiyali Indigenous Classic.
