  1. Walk Through History

St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and historic sites in Melbourne. You’ll find it right in the heart of the city. The site of the Cathedral itself is historic and had established a long history even before St. Paul’s was built in the 1880s. You’ll see it right away if you travel to the corners of Swanston and Flinders Streets in Melbourne. Even if you aren’t visiting to pray, you’ll enjoy the amazing architecture and quiet history of St. Paul’s.
  2. Ride Through the City

The City Circle Tram is one of the best ways to get around Melbourne and explore all the sights, and it's free. Listen to audio commentary as you ride past landmarks and attractions. On the ride, you’ll see Melbourne sights like Parliament House, Federation Square, the Princess Theatre and the Docklands. Look for the tram stops throughout the city to hop aboard. They run every Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  3. Visit the Animals

Every member of the family will enjoy a trip to the Melbourne Zoo. It’s home to more than 350 different animal species who live in a variety of different habitats, including the Eastern Bongo, which is a beautiful and critically endangered antelope. The Melbourne Zoo is Australia’s oldest zoo, and an attraction that you shouldn’t miss on your city holiday. Animal lovers of all kinds will enjoy a visit to this attraction.
  4. Tour Area Wineries

Take a Winebus Winery Tour to get a real taste of Melbourne. The winery tour is a relaxed adventure that takes you through the wine-making area of Yarra Valley, a beautiful part of Australia. Tour guides will tell you about wine as you travel to four different wineries. During the tour, you’ll stop for a delicious gourmet lunch, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to taste various vintages.
  5. Sleep in Style

There are enough things to do in Melbourne to keep you occupied all day, every day, but how will you spend your nights? Instead of going to a huge hotel building that offers cramped quarters and impersonal service, get yourself a beautiful holiday rental. At the end of the day, you can retire to your own modern apartment, beautiful family home, or maybe even a private lodge. A free car rental may even be included in the home rental package, if you're lucky!!
