Staying Near Freycinet National Park

If you love bird watching, you are going to love Freycinet National Park. Some of the birds you might see there are the Australasian gannet and the white bellied sea eagle. Holiday rentals in the region are great jumping-off points to explore the area. This is the oldest park in Tasmania and you can be a part of this historic place.

What's Fun to See

If you love natural landmarks that resemble interesting objects, you are going to love stepping up to the pass that overlooks , one of the ten best beaches on earth. You can also check out the Hazards, several jagged peaks made out of granite. The entire area is alive with colour because of the pink and red granite formations in the park.

If you love plants, you are going to be thrilled to check out as many of the 49 different species local to Tasmania that can be found in Freycinet. If animals are something you enjoy seeing, you might like to see about spotting wombats, echidnas, ringtail possums, Tasmanian bettongs and long-nosed potoroos. You may even spot the somewhat rare but still existent Tasmanian devil.

Even rock hounds have a lot to love about Freycinet. With devonian granite, orthoclase, white quartz, and black micas all common, you might even find Jurassic dolerite in the western area of nearby Schouten Island.

Where's Good to Eat?

Freycinet Bay Lounge is one of the closest places to get a bite to eat in the area. Featuring seafood and steakhouse fare, the views and the service are both great. To get to more restaurants you will want to get to nearby Coles Bay, where there are several great options.

One great option is Richardson's Bistro, where you can get great local fare for a reasonable price and a significant selection. Right next door is the Bay Restaurant, where the views are amazing and the staff is top notch. If you are not sure whether you want seafood, pizza, pasta or Australian fare, you would be wise to try out Tombolo Freycinet. The wine list, the ingredients in the pizzas and the view of the Hazards are all excellent.

What Are the Best Accommodations?

You can find some amazing accommodations when you open your mind to staying in a holiday rental home. While most people are not aware that there are homes to rent for holidays, this just makes it a better idea overall. You can rent an entire home and stay in a spacious place in a good part of town for less than the cost of a boring, cramped hotel room. Why would you want to feel like a tourist when you can feel like a local and basically be "at home" through your entire holiday?

When you take a trip to Freycinet, you are going to have some great times. When you stay the right way, they will be even better.
