Overall: Overall it was a great stay. Rooms were perfect for what we needed. Views are amazing. It is good for big groups of 10 or more. Big upstairs meeting room, plenty of space. Enjoyed Most: We liked the rooms and the views. The property owner did not bug you. Very spacious. Enjoyed Least: One lane, unpaved, rocky road leading to the villa made driving in the dark a challenge. Our car got stuck in the vineyard clay. Surrounding Area: It is centrally located to Florence, Siena, and other great day trip cities, but again at night driving home is tricky. It is surrounded by several wineries and the one that we choose was very good Cinciano Winery was the bomb and highly recommended. Tips or Restaurants: There is a grocery store in the small town. Load up with the basic stuff. Wine is provided by the villa and it is quite good. Note that heating is not available by law until after November 1st; we were there the last week of October and it go chilly. Directions: GPS is needed, but it gives you different directions each time to the villa.

  • Perfect holiday

My family stayed here for a week in July and our only regret is that we could not stay longer. We stayed in Belvedere apartment, with two bedrooms and living room/ kitchen. For four of us, it was more than enough space since the apartment can actually fit six people (retractable sofa in the living room), The apartment is perfectly equipped with everything that you would need for a relaxed holiday and more – tableware, kitchen utensils, towels, toiletries. Rooms are beautifully furnished in traditional Tuscan style and clean, the pool is spacious and well kept, the surrounding garden with olive trees, laurel and lavender bushes is relaxation haven but the true gem is actually the family who runs the place. I can not praise them enough – they really take care of their guests as if they are a part of the family and we felt truly at home. Particularly Paola who was always there to help and pamper us – from printing our tickets to Uffici to generously nurturing us with her wonderful bruschettas, cakes and pates. The family also makes its own wine, grappa, nociolla and olive oil which are all of excellent quality. For the rest – there's excellently stocked supermarket in the village. Not of the least importance - the wireless internet is very good throughout the house and on the front porch as well. Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is ideally situated for visiting other interesting places in Tuscany, close to Florence, Sienna and other spots in Chianti region. I highly recommend that you come by car (or rent it) as the villages scattered along the Chianti route and off the beaten track should not be missed.
