We found the location to be fantastic, close to good shops, restaurants and transport links. We were able to walk to most sites, but if we couldn’t be bothered or were ‘all shopped out’, two metro lines were each only a couple of minutes away. We had two people in the apartment and that was really comfortable, but I can imagine it would be tight with more people as there is a lounge for 2-3 and the shower is off the bedroom, but you’d fit! On the down side, it could do with a good tightening of the nuts and bolts - one of the saucepans didn’t work with the induction cook top, some of the light switches and fittings were loose, the bottom cushion on the sofa would slide out (it looked like velcro straps should have held it in place, but none were done up) and a couple of the internal doors either wouldn’t fully open or wouldn’t latch closed. The apartment is up two flights of stairs, without a lift, which is not too bad except when you arrive and leave if you have large/heavy bags. The apartment was generally clean but the floor was a bit ‘gritty’ and the shower bulkhead had mould on the back of it, but nothing too bad. Access to a washing machine was great and it did a good job on our clothes, but whilst there was a dishwasher we had to hand clean our tea and coffee mugs as it wouldn’t remove the stains! There is no microwave which was a bit of a surprise, but it doesn’t list one so this is just a cautionary statement! The ‘fridge and freezer were both of a really good size. The apartment is well heated (it was actually too warm for us, in January, originally), but we definitely got the cooked onion smells when we had the bedroom window open in the morning. The check in was very easy whilst being somewhat officious with all of the operator’s rules (but I guess we knew where we stood!), but there was only a half (or so) roll of toilet paper and we couldn’t find any dish washing liquid or laundry wash, we is normally available (but there were dishwasher tablets!).
Overall, the location is so good we forgave the foibles!
Anne was very helpful when we organised the booking & Bernard met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked. There is a fantastic bakery next door. And the apartment is walking distance to a lot of attractions. Otherwise buses and trains are very close to reach pretty much anything you want to see in Paris. The area is reasonably quiet & although we were in Paris during the yellow vest demonstrations, we felt safe staying here & away from the ‘hot spots’. Thankyou Sincerely, we would love to stay again if we come to Paris.
