- A very modern and up to date cottage with character in the centre of Chateldon
If you wish to visit a small town that has a lot of French character and a friendly population then this town is worth a visit. It is full of character, has a Chateau, has a great french bistro and bar with friendly staff and is a great place to walk in the surrounding countryside. It also has its own mineral water spring and the water is bottled as Chateldon Water. Pascale made us very welcome at the cottage and everything was as advertised. There was plenty of room and a garden at the back which we enjoyed. An excellent place to stay if you want to get away from the tourist traps and enjoy some of the real French culture and countryside.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here with a very warm welcome from Stephanie. However, for elderly couples the staircase at night to access the bathroom was a bit precarious. So too, was the sloping brick floor in the main bedroom. The bathroom was really nice and the shower very good. We were very pleased to have a lot of modern appliances in the kitchen but I could not find anywhere to hang my washing so had to improvise with a broom and coat hangers. Thank you Stephanie for the bottle of red wine it was very kind of you. We wish you well in the future.
