The apartment was brilliant and very beautifully fitted out. So much space! Perfect for lounging about when I didn't feel like braving the streets after dark.
The washing machine takes a massive load of clothes, and has a drying cycle too, although I didn't bother with that because heatwave! Bathroom was great and spacious too.
There was a tram just down the road near the monoprix (up the escalator at the back for groceries) and not too far beyond that, the port. Definitely take a cruise or two, longer cruises and snorkeling books out in advance.
The stairs weren't a hassle, especially after having mistakenly done the 'grand stairs' at the Marseille Saint Charles station. Pro tip: don't go down Rue de Athenes to get to the apartment. When you get off the trains, use the exit at the very right of the station (totally opposite end to the w/c!)
It can get a little loud on the streets and also when the downstairs neighbours are having a soiree out on their patio. For taking out your garbage and recycling, turn right out of apartment and then the next left I think it was. There's glass and other recycling big bin things next to brown rubbish bins.
All in all, great apartment, thanks Eric, Suzanne and Fabrice!
