Patonga is a quiet, very pretty little seaside village with a lovely beach, safe for small children. There are different walks, with varying degrees of difficulty. There is a delightful children's playground at the Caravan Park.
"Patonga Foreshore" is the most beautiful beach house, steps across the lawn to the sand.
It was spotlessly clean when we arrived.
The house is all white and light with lovely timber floors.
There is a large open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area which takes in the beautiful water and park views. The dining table seats 8 comfortably. The kitchen is state of the art. The lounge area has a lovely, comfortable lounge suite, with a large television. Sliding doors open out to a verandah where there is a timber table with bench seats. There are 2 timber lounge chairs which are perfect for soaking up the sun on the lawn area or on the verandah. White timber shutters on the verandah give privacy and shade.
Downstairs has a gorgeous, large bathroom with a bath and a shower over the bath. The water pressure is excellent. There are 2 bedrooms, one double, one single.
There is a large fully equipped laundry.
Upstairs there is a lovely main bedroom with a verandah overlooking the beach, and a second bedroom with a double sofa bed and a single. The beds were very comfortable. All bed linen and towels are high quality. There was a generous supply of beach towels.
The upstairs bathroom has a shower with great water pressure, and a separate toilet.
The whole house has amazing airconditioning.
In the garden there is a wonderfully useful hot/cold shower.
There is easy street parking.
There were books and some toys, as well as beach toys.
We had many really good takeaway coffees from Boathouse pub, less than a minute away. We also had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners, all very good. It is a beautiful pub with charming, helpful staff. Service was impeccable. We didn't hear a sound from the pub at the house.
We booked cooked lobsters and oysters from Woy Woy Co-op. They delivered on Saturday, in an icebox. They were fabulous.
On our way to Patonga we stopped in Pearl Beach for lunch at the cafe. It was really good. I believe there is an excellent restaurant on the beach.
Jamie's house is the perfect beach house and Jamie is the perfect host. He responded quickly and courteously to our messages. He was very generous, posting something we had forgotten, and offering a very late check-out. We had a magical family getaway! We couldn't stop smiling!
