  • an idyllic retreat, outstanding value

Frog Cottage is truly charming, with a wonderfully secluded aspect. The two room cabin is set well back on the densely planted block, with a spacious verandah partly hidden by a luxuriant fig tree - you feel as if you're in a leafy bower. The trees and undergrowth are full of small twittering birds and other wildlife. There were a few mosquitoes around dusk, although insects didn't trouble us at other times of day. The two rooms are sparkling clean and overall the place has a lovely fresh contemporary feel to it. The sofa bed is spacious and quite comfortable, the double bed is incredibly relaxing. One slight issue was that we had hardly any mobile phone coverage, it was out of range. However as the property is right on the edge of Ventnor, it was a very quick trip into Cowes to access the network and supermarket etc. In general the location is very handy for access to all the attractions of the island. The cabin is perfect for a quiet getaway for one or two people. It could work for more if the weather is good, as there's plenty of space to hang out on the verandah. There is not really an open space for children to play close to the cabin. Frog Cottage has a wonderful welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. It is fantastic value compared to the plain utilitarian caravan park cabin you would get for a similar price. I'm very keen to return for a creative retreat as soon as I can.

  • Lovely getaway - close to the beach and hot springs.

We had a great time. Lin and Joe were lovely. It was very close to the beach and very close to the hot springs. Both big positives for us. The facilities were perfect as well. Overall really great. I would highly recommend for a couple who want a few days away. :)
